Bam Earthquake, Iran, 26th December, 2003


In response to the devastating earthquake that hit the Iranian city of Bam on Friday 26, December 2003, IAHV launched a worldwide appeal. With over 25,000 people estimated to be killed and many more injured, IAHV mobilized its resources to reach the earthquake victims as quickly as possible. Eleven volunteers went to Bam, Iran. Huge quantities of warm clothes were collected overnight in Europe and sent to Iran. Besides givng clothes and other
