IAHV’s Rural Development empowers youth from local communities to become leaders in their communities through the Youth Leadership Training Program (YLTP). These youth, who have undergone life skills training lead service projects in their local communities.

The 5H program aims to ensure that every village has Homes, Health, Hygiene, Human Values, and Harmony in Diversity. Established in 1997, 5H works to eradicate poverty, misery, disease, and to ensure peace and harmony in rural and tribal areas worldwide.

5H Acheivements:

  • Reached 40,212 villages
  • Trained 110,000 rural youth in YLTP
  • Conducted 165,000 free stress-relief workshops benefiting more than 5,688,000 people
  • Conducted 49,500 hygiene camps and 25,950 medical camps benefitting 2,582,500 people
  • Planted more than 10 million trees
  • 1895 homes, 5418 toilets, 1152 bore-wells and 904 bio-gas plants built
  • 55 model villages developed benefiting 115,000 people
  • Trained over 6000 people in organic farming

Light a Home

Light a Home is a rural electrification initiative which provides subsidized alternative energy in places where grids are not available. For more details click here.


IAHV organizes conferences to bring together NGOs on a common platform to work together for the development & upliftment of rural & underprivileged communities.

Home for Homeless

We build home for homeless people or disaster victims who lost home during disaster. We built home for disaster victims of Tsunami at Nagapattinum, Tamilnadu. This was for Long Term Rehabilitation of Tsunami Victims. For more details click here.
